I've had insulin dependent diabetes for 67 years, beginning in 1948. I'll be 81 in June, but look 10 years younger. I use an insulin pump and have pump records since 2009. I'm active, walking most days on moderate slopes. I follow a plant based diet with occasional fish.

I've had laser surgery on my eyes 35 years ago and have 20/30 vision with only very small floaters occasionally. I have low level neuropathy in my feet and thighs (brief shooting pains). I have dermopathy on my ankles and top of feet. It causes only mild discomfort.

I was diagnosed with angina 3 years ago on the treadmill but do not experience it when walking up hill briskly or digging in my garden. My kidneys are in good shape.
